The Philadelphia Folk Festival is the oldest continuous running music festival in the United States of America. This year, 2012, marked the 51st Philadelphia Folk Festival. The most amazing thing about this festival are the people who attend. The norm is not to find people who are only attending their 2nd or 3rd Philly Folk Fest, but rather are attending their 20th fest at the age of 20. This festival becomes a part of people's lives. And the Faces of Fest project seeks to capture the very fabric of the Folk Fest - its people.
We took over 200 portraits over the weekend. Plus all the other festival type things like avoiding rain, camping, hanging out at 3am listening to acoustic jams, meeting interesting folks, visiting the river, and, of course, listening to music. To sum it all up: we got our folk on!
